my x type has a slight vibration/ rumble that goes louder when turning left, checked all wheel bearings which to me seemed like a bearing grumble but all are good. any ideas folks?

 

Cookiedoh, if the noise only happens turning one direction, then odds are, you need to look at the other side (right) CV joint. It may be possible that your CV joints are starting to go and you are hearing hte noise as you are positioning the CV joint out of a "normal" (straight forward) position and then putting it under all the load of the engine as the left one will be turning slower and not taking up the load.
