Default 2001 X type rear window removal

Hi All, Trying to get the window off on the rear driverside. But have to overcome the plastic retainer that holds the glass in place. dont want to exert too much force, has any one managed to get this off without the special tool. Thank you

Mate, please tell us a bit about your car. What country, estate or sedan, and model of X type. even the year of production. All these things help when asking questions.

Thank you very much Dell Gailey. Can you share your thoughts on why the window will go down when the switch is pressed but will go up in stages ( goes up and then stops, have to turn the ignition switch off and on, then it will travel up a little and stop. have to repeat to close fully.

Try the auto reset. This video is opposite direction of your problem, but same procedure.

THEN = lube the runners
