Default 2002 2.5Lwith DSC

I have two 2002 xtypes. One is my daily driver which is 3.0 automatic without sport suspension and doesn’t have DSC. the parts car is 2.5l with sport suspension and has DSC and I was wondering what all would have to be swapped around in order to put the DSC over on my daily driver. Everything on the parts car works and car still runs and moves for the time being until I start swapping over all of the goodie options from the parts car over to the other one. Parts car has factory 17’s and gray heated seats and black carpet. Also has the little lip / wing on the trunk lid. All of these I’m planning on putting over on the daily driver. Even has or should I say had the headlight sprayers but a deer kinda took those out lol.

I installed all of the DSC parts on one of my X-types that did not have it. Then I ran into a snag that I still haven't been able to resolve. The DSC option has to be turned on inside the ECM. I called 2 Jaguar dealers and neither of them had any interest in trying to help me. They stated that the car is so old that they no longer had mechanics who would know how to do that. (Both are over a 4 hour drive from me.)

Before you take the time to swap any of the parts, if you have a jaguar dealer near you, you should call them and tell them what you want to do and see if they can do this. If not then you will have to purchase or get your hands on a genuine Jaguar IDS programming kit with the correct software revision. (For sale used, starting around $1500 and up.) + if you haven't used IDS, you will have to learn how to program an ECM with it and find what bit/configuration has to be flipped in order to turn on the DSC feature.

(I really wish that someone else can figure this out and share on the forum what one has to do to get the ECM to turn on DSC.)

Parts needed to be swapped
- Steeing column - Steering wheel angle sensor. No you cant just add the SAS, The steering column has a different lower plastic piece that mounts the SAS.
- Pitch and yaw sensor that mounts behind the J-Gate shifter.
- ABS brake module has to be swapped to an ABS assembly that is a ABS/DSC assembly. (Yes you will have to plan on bleeding all of the brake lines.
- Install the DSC switch.

In my case, All of the harnesses and connectors were already in my car. But others have stated that some cars did not have the harnesses installed, so you need to check to be sure you have all the connectors. (If you find an extra plug that is tied back off of the main ABS connector (small connector connects to an extra pressure switch on the ABS assy.), then chances are you have all the harnesses already installed.)

I was lucky in that all the parts I installed worked without any ABS faults, but DSC capability still does not exists because The ECM doen't reccognize the feature.

So in other words the hell with that idea lol. Thanks for the in detail on all of it. I guess I’ll just stick with just swapping over all of the other options that one car has and the other doesn’t. Again thanks for the heads up.
