So, I was looking around for a cheap vehicle to last me about a year (possibly 2 years) and came across a 2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5 Sport Sedan at a somewhat local dealer. The vehicle has approximately 65,000 miles and from what I can tell is in exceptional condition. The dealer wants a little under $5,000 for it. Keep in mind it is 2017 and I will be driving to and from work 76 miles every day. I make approximately $80,000 per year now (just started this job a few months ago) and need something reliable to get me to and from work for now until I can afford something I actually want. Basically, what I want to know is, is this a good deal for that old of a car with low mileage or am I looking at a money pit?

That mileage is extremely low for an 02, but it's still an 02, $5000 is a bit too high, you'll put in roughly 20K a year, in two years it'll be around 100+K miles, by that time you might get $1000 traded in or lucky can sale it for$1500. Go online check on: "CarGurus" or "AutoTrader", you can find many later MY X-Type with average mileage for the same price or even less.
