Default 2002 Jaguar X-type Sport

How is everyone today?

I am going to test drive a 2002 X-type Sport after work and just wanted some opinions. It has 97,XXX miles and it looks like it is in great condition. They are asking $9,900 for it. What do you think about that price? They have many other Jaguars on the lot that I can look at along with Aston Martins (way out of my price range, unfortunately). Let me know what you think, good or bad. Thanks!

Auto or Manual? I'd talk him down a little more. I'm sure they'll let it go for 9k, especially if it's a manual because Americans are lazy. That's how I got a great deal on my X-Type Sport. I ended up having nearly 4k knocked off the price.

Yeah, I was going to try for 9k. It is an automatic though. I'll see if I like it tonight

100K miles, on that auto tranny, and that specific model year? I would turn around and run as fast as I could. Do a little research and you'll find that year is by far the most problematic model year. Extended warranty is even out of the question since it has so many miles. I wouldn't do it. I would raise the figure a bit and shoot for an 04, or at least an 03. You can find them at about 12K with far less miles. Believe me!!!! Just get on autotrader.com.

^ Agreed. Don't buy one with an automatic. You'll be asking for a tranny in a few thousand or hundred miles.

Very true This one just caught my eye because it is black with black leather.

Do Jags have many problems with over 100k miles? 2002 seems fairly new so I wouldn't think it would have problems so soon. I'm not a Jaguar expert though.

OH BOY! Read up buddy! You obviously don't know what you are getting yourself into. My S-type has 106K miles, and no major problems so far, but I did my research and I knew what to buy. Read up well on the cars first. If you're going to go with the 02-03 X, make sure it's a manual and the 3.0, as the 2.5 is not only slower, but also not as dependable. READ READ READ though!

My bmw had cloth and I just couldn't find the connection between luxury and cloth interiors. lol. Black/Black is what I have been wanting. The only other combo I would take is Silver/Black

You can also consider dark blue since it's a dark color too
Same here I can see no point of lacking of leather but cloth ,velour .So is cheap plastic instead of wood

You are right, Dark blue would be very nice I hope I find one. Its hard to shop for used cars because they seem to never have all the options you want, you know?
