2002 X-type 2.5 Power Steering Pump
My '02 X-Type made a fleeting noise when I started it up that sounded like either the pump in the transmission or from the power steering. I shut it off and raised the hood to have a look. I saw there was little PS fluid in the little round black tank so I added enough to bring it up to the proper mark. I started it up again and drove around the block and back. Leaving it running I looked under the front behind the passenger side tire (US model) and saw a puddle of fluid and it was dripping at a rate of about 1 prop per second from the pump area. I'm going to have the change the pump I believe, but I'm not sure if the best way to access it is:
From underneath the vehicle (and if I have to remove a shield or cover to see the bolts)
OR
By removing the front wheel and inner fender liner to get to the pump.
Anyone one tackle this job and are willing to share useful info on doing this?
Thanks!

I'd say you'll have to do some of both to get at it, through the wheel well and from underneath. You'll have to pull the serp belt off, too.
You may luck out and it'll be just a hose. I lost a high pressure hose on a car once and it dripped like that.

Merry Xmas to everybody and my best wishes for a new happy year!
I want to rebuild the power steering pump of my X-Type 2.1L V6 Auto (Pump is ZF LenkSysteme DMR 99016). Does anyone know where to find a service kit?
Many Thanks
