Default 2002 X-Type HVAC woes

Just bought a 2002 X-Type with LH drive, 3.o engine and auto trans. Air conditioning worked great the 1st day we had the car. 2nd day the air would not come out the vents. Blower fan running fine on all speeds. A little cold air coming out the dash vents, but not much volume at all. 3rd day, normal operation returned. Plenty of airflow from vents.
Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

Since you're getting some cold air, either your HVAC vents have lost the zero location or they just don't work anymore. Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. Reconnect the battery, turn the key one click and then pull up on all of the window buttons. This should reset the HVAC vents to the zero (and the windows).

If doesn't work, the vents for blending the air are located on the passenger side of the center console under the dash. Here's a link to forum post on what to do next, if the above "trick" didn't work.

keep us posted.

HVAC has been working fine. Just did it that one time. If it happens again I will let you know. But for now...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
