Default 2002 x type phone and voice command question

Is the phone system connected through blue-tooth? If so how do I get my phone to recognize it. Also do all x-types have the voice command and how do I enable it?. I do not have the navigation but I do have the button on the steering wheel for phone/voice.

No, not all X Types have voice command. Most have to have a separate phone module mounted in the center console
to attach your cell for hands-free through the phone buttons. Do a search on this forum for phone and I think there
is more info and maybe a pic or two.

If you have a 2002 model - I'm pretty sure you do not have Bluetooth. The first model year that Jaguar offered Bluetooth connectivity in the X-Type was 2006. The phone connected some other way in the earlier models. If you've got it - I would review the owner's manual.
