Default 2003 Coolant Expansion Tank

I have a 2003 X-Type 2.5. The hose connector on the top passenger side of the expansion tank broke off. I am going to replace the tank, from what I have read and seen it seems like a pretty straight-forward job. Unfortunately the failure occurred when I was out, currently the car is at a friend's house. Does anyone have any suggestions of a temporary fix that will allow me to safely drive the car home? Thanks for your help!!

Mine broke off too just like everyone elses eventually did..

It is a coolant return line, so there wiil be some coolant flowing in it..I took a small copper tube that fit inside of the plastic bit and then epoxy'ed the whole bit together to the tank..it leaked a little, but I was able to get the car to the dealer..(About a 20 minute drive) Just make sure the tank is full before you leave...as long as there is coolant in the tank the engine will be alright..don't expect the system to pressurize though.
