Hi all just bought my first Jag and just trying to figure all the bits and bobs out, i was wondering is this a standard feature or is it a fault starting to appear. when i start the car the wipers give one sweep of the screen which is annoying when the screen is dry and got grit on it i'm worred that in due time it will scratch the screen, If its a standard feature can it be switched off ?

That is the automatic wiper feature. If you move the adjustment one more position on the stalk you'll be able to shut that off. Either look in your owner's manual or on the stalk itself and you will see what I mean. There is nothing wrong with the wipers. You just aren't familiar with the operation of it yet I am guessing.

I hate that feature, by the way.

 

Thanks for the reply but i dont think mine has the auto wipers fitted theres not the 5th click on the wiper arm that says auto lol i could be wrong though
