Default 2004 jaguar x-type 3.0, no start

My 2004 x-type 3.0 wont start,
My wife and i went to seethe movie sinister at the local theater, we took the car parked it, turned everything off, upon returning to the car from the theater, the car would not start, i checked the battery voltage after tryna start the car it red 10.3v, i got a friend of mine to give the car a jump, i checked the voltage across the battery 14.7v and positive terminal to starter was 14.7 , we left the parking lot and went for a short drive to get some food, when we got home 40 minutes after leaving the theater parking lot, i turned the car off, and waited a minute then attempted to start the car again, the car did not start, i checked the voltage on the battery it was 10.3v.

while the car was driving no battery light came on, the car drove fine, has anyone had this issue or similar please help.

you need a new battery, the 14+ volts you are seeing is good but that 10 volts points to a bad battery

give the car 3 or 4 cold start cycles and it should go out on its own.

I think the ECU on these cars count non starts as mis-fires and that would trigger the engine light, give it a day or two to re-learn its adaptations as you had the battery replaced.

Or plan B, just get it reset
