Default 2006 Jaguar X-Type with full features, but no MP3.

I have a 2006 Jaguar X-Type with full features, but no MP3. Is there a solution to play MP3‘s in my car?

Nothing that is very EZ or very good. The factory did make a kit at one time, but they are very expensive now. If you have a cassette player there was a hack to add an audio in by taking the radio apart and tapping into the board.

I have not tried to burn my MP3 onto a CD to see if they play.

Most guys will replace the radio with a newer one or add a Bluetooth adapter. Some Bluetooth adapters are ok some are bad.

Question

This is a picture of my centre-console. I cannot find, till now, a DIN-frame adaptor with facia plate to replace only the radio cd-player. You wrote of a kit from Jaguar; what does it cost and where do I get one? About the Bluetooth adapter my car has one, because it has the original hands-free telephone kit. Can I connect a MP3 player with this? I don’t see a USB slot.

You may be able to get an mp3 to FM device.

I would work on connecting your cell phone (or an old phone full of MP3 music) to the car. This will allow you to play them.

Read the "Sticky" on the top of the list about doing this, as I know nothing about them.

My phone (Samsung Galaxy J5.6) is connected to the car, but phone and car only exchange sound and contact data. Sending and receiving calls goes without a hitch. I’m think I have to live with it and I didn’t like the look of a aftermarket radio anyway. What I would like to know is the price of the mod. Kit and/or where to purchase it.
