Default 2006 X-Type knocking/ticking sound coming from around the valve cover area.

It sounds like a lifter that’s stuck but there’s no discernible loss of compression or power it drives pretty smooth yet that knocking is a constant in idle and gets louder with acceleration. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

its been noted that a rattling/knocking can often be heard before a spark plug launches out of the head.
happened to me twice and last time i did actually hear a louder tapping noise the day it happened.
im not saying thats ur noise, just be aware
