Hi, I have a 2008 X type 2.2 diesel. Is starting to play up, initially would not start at all ,called out recovery service and they said it was the fuel sensor in the fuel rail. I replaced that, it ran OK for a while but now the problem hasgot a lot worse. It starts OK, will run along for fifty metres then cuts out, engine light comes on and coil flashes. I turn the ignition off and on again it starts OK and runs for fifty metres and cuts out again... and so on. Is there something else I can try? Getting to a garage will be a problem for me. Not sure if it relevant but there is a strong smell of burnt diesel fumes when I first start.
