Default 2800-3000 rpm shake......

i am a new owner of jaguar. this is the 2003 x-type 2.5. it is very well maintained in the looks and seems to be running fine until you get on it a little.

you start the car. it idles great (750 rpm). you put it in revers to back up and its fine. you put it into drive and slowly accelerate it will change gears fast it seems but smoothly. and will drive fine as long as you keep rpm under the 2800 mark.

if you put it into drive and get on the accelerator a bit it will take off fine. but it will shake going into 2nd gear if you keep on the gas pedal. if you rev it while going into 3rd it will also shake, but it doesnt shake on 4th.

again this only happens if the gas is applied while shifting at 2800-3000rpm. once it changes it will continue fine with gas being applied with no further issues.

any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

i do have aldata for this car

antiboss: Don't know the mileage of the car but it sounds like a spark plug or coil or even an injector. I had the same issue at about the same RPM. I ran mine in sport mode till I had a chance to get at it.changes the shift points to a higher rpm. Mine was two bad plugs that I had some else put in about 10K earlier. Champion crap! I ohmed out the coils and they all were about the same, checked compression that was constant so I screwed in a new set of Bosch plugs and it run like a new car.I took a chance on the injectors, I say there OK.
You might not get a CEL unless you let it continue missing or get on it while it's missing. I bought a new coil from NAPA and compared the readings to mine then brought it back after job. Compared the plugs and found two at 10 times higher resistance, Bingo, Job done.
