Hello jaguarforums!
Hello! I've been lurking for a while whenever I have a question, or just to research my car (95' xj6 4.0l in the stylish Brooklands Green 753/HFB color). I got the car a few years ago in 2012 when I was a sophomore in high school, for what I think was a bargain (less than 2k) considering how well it ran (and still runs).
Since then there've been some changes.
Other than that, there isn't much that I can say! She's been fun, I get a lot of weird looks and lots of gruff at school for it, but I don't mind. It makes for a helluva good first car.
And yes, I do take care of her. No drag races or anything.
Since then there've been some changes.
- Master Cylinder had to be replaced
- Got a new stereo system since the stock one never worked since I got it
- one of the "engine governors" went haywire and wouldn't let the engine go past 2k RPMs, and had to be disabled (at least, that's what the local jag dealership told us about why it wouldn't accelerate well anymore)
- brand spanking new snow tires! (This one was exciting for me, after spinning out a couple of times)
- Girlfriends grandma backed into the passenger door last month, but we're working on fixing it

Other than that, there isn't much that I can say! She's been fun, I get a lot of weird looks and lots of gruff at school for it, but I don't mind. It makes for a helluva good first car.

Welcome.
You sir will go far.
An X300 owner that actually knows his car is Brooklands Green, and NOT BRG. Mine is that same colour, and the discussions re that name could fill a book.
Welcom again.

Welcome to the forum baskervillema,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
You've started something that will probably stay with you for the rest of your life. I got my first Jaguar at eighteen and am still driving them forty seven years later.
I can see you've already found your way to the X300 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
You can also visit the USA Mid West Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-mid-west-il-ia-mi-mn-mo-oh-wi-39/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
