3.0 ECU tuning....

If you do a search on here there is a ton of discussion about performance upgrades to our cars. Really not a whole lot you can do. However, consensus seems to be that Arden is the only one worth anything. It's not cheap as I recall and you have to send your ECU to them, but it sounds like it works.

I'm thinking 35 HP is not going to have any effect on the TC. I'd bet you can add up to 100 HP with no effect. The problems aren't with HP the problems are with launching and 0-60 type things, to go from 0 to 60 while dumping the clutch or doing a brake stand puts undue stress on the TC because unlike a normal rear or FWD car all 4 tires try to bite and the TC grenades.

Sorry to go off topic, but heres my question/ scenario.
Your merging onto a freeway at lets say 40- 50 MPH. You see a semi trunk in your rear view mirror. You punch it (automatic) and it shifts down and goes to 6.5k on the tach. Will this hurt the transfer case or is it just from a stop that will hurt it?

I pin my foot to the floor at least once a day. Never from a complete standstill but in just your scenerio. I'm betting that is not going to adversely effect the TC. (I literally am betting since if I'm wrong...)
I know everyone says that the TC is the weakest link, but it's more for dumping the clutch at 3000RPM than using passing gear. Running the cars to redline every now and then is probably doing more good than harm and is blowing out the carbon from the intake system.
