5W-30 or 5W-40
Hey all,
At the risk of going over old ground, I am inclined to give my kitty a slightly 'heavier' oil now that it's up to the 120K Miles.
Thoughts? (I'm ignoring the synth, non-synth discussion)
TIA

My thoughts: I am using (Castrol Edge Full Synthetic) 5W-40...
BUT: I am in Australia! My reasoning is that I am of the opinion that 5W-40 is better in this extremely hot environment, which Australia happens to be:
I see never a temperature below 5°C, most of the time it's about 23°C, but these days it is frequently 30°C and over.
And I am hoping that it makes sense, to use 5W-40 in such an environment instead of 5W-30.
I am not sure, if I would use 5W-40 in England...

Also in OZ, just a tad South of Peter.
My usage, and PURELY based on the same principles as Peter.
X400 5W40.
X200 5W40
X300 inc R, 5W40
ALL the V12s, 10W40
Series 6cyl beasts 10W40.
Prior to that was pure Mineral, and mostly single viscosity, SA30 being what I used in those cars.
