99 VDP trunk lights

99 VDP trunk lights

Replaced bulbs in trunk lights and fuse is OK, still don't work. What activates the trunk lights, and could this be the problem?

put a meter on the bulb contacts in the car. could be a bad connection or a bad bulb (just because it is new does not mean it is good)
