ABS Help Please!!!!

Hi. I purchased a 2002 X-Type AWD where the front wheel bearing came apart and the previous owner continued to drive the car until sparks were coming from it. This damaged the axle, spindle and ABS sensor. I purchased a used axle shaft and spindle from a junkyard and replaced the bearing with a new one. After I completed the repairs, I left the battery disconnected for a bit but the ABS light still was on after start up and driving (car now drives fantastic). I used the ABS sensor that came with the used spindle so I checked it with a DVOM and it was out of range according to the spec on Mitchells on demand. I replaced the sensor with a new one and left the battery cable again disconnected for a while. When I started the car, the ABS light is still on. I have been driving the car for about 2 months and nothing has changed.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do next? Do I need a scan tool to clear the codes? I know the previous owners who have stated there were no lights on until this bearing came apart. Does anyone know what the front ABS sensor picks up on? I removed the front ABS sensor from the opposite side and looked down the hole, and did not see any type of trigger wheel so I am a little unclear how the system works. I am also guessing that you would need a Jaguar-specific scan tool to read the ABS codes, correct? I'm an ASE Master Certified technician with very little experience with Jaguars. If anyone knows if I could buy the software for my computer to do this please let me know.
