re synthetic oil ...many posts over the years....
stating DO NOT USE SYNTHETIC OIL

That restriction was lifted in 2003.

According to the tech. I read some time ago, the synthetic oil would be better pure petrol oil.

Only the X-type with 6 cyl engines had this restriction in the first place. No other Jag. The 'no synthetic' message in the owners manual disappeared in 2003. Nobody really knows why it was there in the first place.

There is no benefit using synthetic in place of regular oil unless you plan to extend the change interval.
