Aguill, and other sport owners
I cant drop my jag anymore because of my rims, but i still want a harder suspension. Is the ride of a sport model considerably more firm than the comfort set up? has anyone driven the 2 models and can give an opinion? i found the OEM sport spring set online for under $180 and am about to jump on them while i can. I'm also going the back those springs with the oem billstien sport shocks. the shocks and springs all together is going to be less that $650, and is very doable. Is there a real noticeable difference between thesport and comfortsetups? (i know the coil spring part numbers are different) I am used to sporty cars with harsh rides, so comfort is not really my concern, only performance.

Hey there somekidz, I have the Sport model.......unfortunately I haven't driven the car with std suspension so am not able to make a comparison.
However, I love the way my Sport handles......got a good firm ride, not a lot of body roll in the corners, even at speed, not bone shakingly hard either though and still smooths out the bumps nicely too..........all in all I'd say they got it pretty muchon the money.
My Saab for example is the Sport too........Handles great in the bends, really flat and very little body roll, sits low n looks mean........but, you do feel a lot of the bumps!

With your permisson I would like tohave my 0.02 $ .So, if you find a sway bar/strut bar for X Type I would recommend it .It can help your turn the corners faster.improve the rigidity and eliminates the shakes .That works for the curves not on a straight line

Hey there somekid, I drove many x-types before purchasing mine and I would say the ride is rougher than the standard x. I'm pretty sure its dropped vs. the stock one but I'm not for sure. Racer would know! I'm pretty sure its dropped a touch compared to regular but i know it is definitely stiffer. What size rims do you have? Got any pics? Also if you wanted I'd look up the suspension on-line brand new for the springs and struts, I'd say you could get them cheaper new than on ebay, but maybe not...

I've spent ample seat time with both suspensions. The standard suspension is boring to drive. It body rolls in turns and feels like more of a non-descript family car than a sports sedan. The Sport suspension is a must, in my opinion. It feels much more composed at speed and the car is much tighter in the twisties. It's also forgiving enough to take on pot-holed, hilly backroads (I live in New England!!) and not bust your kidneys. Your grandparents wont like the ride, but judging by the large rims low-profile tires you've selected, you most likely don't give a dookie about passenger comfort.
You said the car can't be lowered, but Sport suspension has a lower ride height than the standard suspension. Too bad you can't drop it more. You could install H&Rs or Eibachs and really take away the understeer. Mybe you should drop it, roll, and flare the fenders... [sm=icon_rock.gif]
