Default Airbag Removal

Im new to this forum and excited to get answers to some issues as well as hopefully helping others.
My first issue is removing the drivers airbag from my 2003 steering wheel. I have bought a replacement because mine has the curling edge issue. I have unplugged the battery and taken all the precations and have gotten the airbag screws out . Here is were I need help , it looks like the connections must be removed from the back of the airbag. I have pushed the yellow slider in both directions and the connections don't seem to come loose. I dont want to force them and damage them , so how are they removed safely ?? Thanks in advance for your help

squeeze the sides of the connectors (very small spring tabs on eachside) and lift straight up and out. These connectors are uniquely keyed so they cannot be plugged back in wrongly.
