Default airbag warning light

New member (yesterday), and new to the whole forum thing as well as this specific one. Anyway... always wanted a Jag and 10 days ago took possession of a 2006 X-type, 2.2D S manual, 56000 miles. Haven't stopped smiling yet, even when I'm indoors and looking at it outside the house.

One small (I hope) problem that someone may be able to help me with:

when I picked it up from the dealer the airbag warning light was on. They checked it in the workshop and said no problem with the airbags according to the diagnostics, just the warning light.

Apparently previous owner hadn't moved the driver's seat for years (only driver) so when I got in the car and moved it, it disturbed the connectors under the seat.

They cleaned them and re-connected them so problem apparently solved. Halfway home (Lancashire to Derbyshire) I stopped and adjusted the seat - warning light came on again and has been on ever since.

Are the connectors that sensitive, or is there a more serious problem? Anyone able to help please?

Welcome to the forum Don,

I've copied this question from your Intro. Members here with the same model will be able to help.
