Default Alarm go off for no reason

Hi has anybody had this problems I have a jaguar x type 2004 estate, the glass split boot wont open and my alarm and indicator go off in the middle of the night, if I press the key fob it goes off but about one hour later it goes off again I have to start the car and this seems to reset the alarm any ideas ?

You might try to communicate with the Security System to check for 'LAST VEHICLE ALARM ACTIVATION' to see if you can determine the cause of the activation.

The module should have info on what switch or sensor set it off?

Most likely the backup sounder module. There are nicad batteries in it that corrode and go bad.

Part number = 1X43-19G229-BA

The other possibility is as Motorcarman suggests. That one of the modules (door, boot, bonnet, rear window) is failing and telling the car to actuate the alarm.

I don't know if your model has the "double lock" security. Two presses of the lock button. Mine does and if I activate this the alarm system becomes very sensitive and is prone to going off in the night. I put it down to neighbours cats jumping on the car!
