Question Alarm won't arm

Have disconnected my battery to charge it. I have reconected (correctly) the leads and it all seemed fine , car started, lights work etc. Have now got a problem with the car not locking or the alarm not able to be armed. I thought it could be the transmitter in the key but have tried the spare and that won't do it either. Any ideas

Will the car lock with the key in the door lock? If it does then both remotes need reprogramming. 5 minute job.

Hi.

When you pull the key out of the ingnition there is a tiny "latch" sliding covering the ignition hole. If this "latch" gets stuck the car think the key is still in the ignition and you are unable to lock it. You need a flashlight and maybe some reading glasses depending on your age to see the latch.
You can carefully pry it loose with a tothpick. Do not lubricate it too much.

You can recharge your battery connected to the car with an electronic charger, (Ctek)

To the best of my knowledge.

but like Oyster said, have a look at the flap in the ignition switch first.
