Hi, sorry if this has been discussed before, anyway My Dad has an X-Type, and keeps going on about having a leaper. Now I've had a search on here, and the web. And it seems the price varies massively, now has anyone got any experiance with this one:

I know its cheap, but is it really any worse than the more expensive ones on ebay?

I also know alot of people dont like them, and the debate of them being legal, but hey Dad says he wants one, its his car!

In regards to your question, I would first want to know if that is an official Jaguar part or if it is a clone (ie, not made by Jaguar). As a general rule, you get what you pay for. If it is a Jaguar part that is just really cheap, then all the better. But, if it is a knock off, it can be made really cheaply and you are going to have nothing but issues.

I would also tell you to check your local laws. IN the US, not an issue having the cat on the hood. Over in say Europe, having the cat on the hood can lead to legal issues due to "potential pedestrian impalement". Hence why you will find some members have the cat on their hoods while others do not.

 

Ask the seller where it is manufactured. Always a good starting point. Good luck, and mark me down for "I like my leaper".

 

I would guess thats its a chinese cheap version... Maybe not what Im looking for. Anyone know a resonable priced place which sell genuine Jag ones? Ones which ship to UK obviously!
