Default Another lower control arm topic

Hello guys,

My car has had noises and clunking coming from the front for a while now. A couple of weeks I had the front pads changed and that added a new screeching noise when stoping and turning, so I dropped it of this morning to get as much as possible fixed......

So after two new rotors, sway bar bushings, sway bar end links an alignment, and 700.00 dollars, the car feels 95% better, but still needs the front lower control arms.

I went ahead and bought two new complete arms for 160.00, and was wondering if I can replace those myself....

Any insight would be greatly appreciated !!

Spike, fellow members have replaced the lower control arms themselves. The big thing to keep in mind is that you are going to need to drop the lower front subframe down a little bit so you can back the bolt out far enough to get the lower control arm out (the back bolt near the firewall). Not a hard job, but, don't plan on getting the job done in an hour. Plan on something more like a complete afternoon.

That helps a lot Chris.

I'll just pay to have it done. Complete afternoon sounds like two weekend with my luck.
