Default Any good quality aftermarket brands for swinging arms, UK

Can anyone recommend any good quality aftermarket brands for swing arms to buy in UK. Can't believe a £67 for a pair an eBay would last a day...

Just under 90k but the lower ball joint covers are developing tears.

Thanks Dell, however, autodoc stocks garbage like ridex and meyle (not meyle HD), so wouldn't trust it. But it is interesting that most of the swinging arms actually are around £50.

Does anyone have experience with Blueprint for wishbones?

If the actual ball joints are OK you may be able to just buy the rubber boots. That’s be far easier than replacing the control arms.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Thanks watto, interesting, I've heard that once the boot is cracked, there's a risk abrasive particles have already got in. I'll have a search through the forums about repalcing the boot. MOT passed without an issue though, but not sure they actually check for any play.

You can use the ball joint replacement only kit (requires drilling out the rivets and attaching with the provided bolts).

Good idea Dell. I wonder how does one tell if the whole wishbone is shot. Maybe changing the ball joint only would just be putting a band aid.

Does anyone know if mk3 mondeo suspension arms are compatible with Jags? Seems like I can get a nice lemforder from autodoc for just ~£60 (compared to normal price of ~260). They *look* identical to Jag's https://m.autodoc.co.uk/lemforder/1266436

I drilled out (we’ll just say I drilled out) the rivets on my arms and replaced the ball joints. If you do a search here, or on YouTube, about replacing the control arm you’ll find that it doesn’t come out…..well it doesn’t come out easy. You can raise the body off the frame one side at a time to gain clearance, but drilling out the rivets was a much less arduous process.

Angle grind X’s in the rivet heads and use an air hammer to pop the tops off. The use a punch to hammer them out. *I disclaim - it sounds easy, and it is if everything goes right, but be prepared with a drill bit.
