Default ATF drain plug gasket.

Hi there!

I've done multiple ATF drain/fills and one thing that's bothered me every time is the drain plug gasket.

Mine has a metal gasket, but it doesn't fit the plug snugly, so after torqueing the plug, the gasket is off center. Is this normal? Mine hasn't leaked, but it's always bothered me.

Is a gasket even supposed to be there?

Thanks in advance!

The aluminum crush washer can be used a few times but you might want to keep a spare on hand for the final drain/fill.

Any VW,Jaguar,Land Rover dealer will have it as they all use the JATCO JF506E gearbox.

VW calls it the 09A gearbox.

I use copper crush washers sometimes. The Hardware store has a bin full of different sizes.

Thanks. I will continue my search for the exact part number online. We'll see if the replacement is a sloppy fit as well. I just like to do everything exactly by the book, for better or for worse, it's my OCD.

Wow, I can't seem to find them online. It's like no-one ever replaces them or something.
