Default ATF drain and refill amount

Hi guys, finally I did ATF drain and refill.

The first time I got about 2.6 quarts several days ago. Today I did the second drain and fill and got 3.25 quarts out. Any idea about the difference? Car is on the same ramp with same position and angle. The only difference I know is today is colder. Thanks.

Sounds like there's probably less fluid in the auto tranny cooling system which would result in the extra fluid. Keep in mind that when you drain your automatic transmission you are not getting all of the fluid out. There is still a substantial amount of fluid still in the cooling system and torque converter which both like to hold fluid for a while. Hope this answers your question!
