I surf these forums often but this is my first time posting. I have a 02 2.5 x type. I have just the basic headlight switch I am wondering if I could install one with auto headlights and it would be plug and play. Just trying to add a couple little features since mine is pretty basic. Thank you in advance for your response.

 

I am planning on upgrading to the auto light as well as my daughter will be driving my car and if possible id like to avoid the " Dad, I have a dead battery" phone call.

I am new to the xtype and this mod is a little lower down my list but in my research I have found that an auto dimming mirror is required along with the switch. The new mirror is where the sensor is to trip the on/off feature.

What i am unsure of is weather or not the wiring is plug and play .

I am curious if any year x-type switch and mirror will work in any year.

It's relating to a UK vehicle so wiring colours may be different but you'll get the idea.
