awd jaguar x type 3l

the rear of the car is jack in the snow and in stuck there....no power to front wheel why?

What year is your car and does it have DSC? If it is after 2004 you might not have the fluid coupling transfer case. If so, you have an open differential and without the DSC, you will get the situation you describe.
