Default Battery Replacement

I noticed I had corrosion on the ground terminal on my battery and I cleaned it off and all and noticed a 2" crack from the ground terminal which is causing the acid to come out. I need to replace the battery but does anyone know what requirements I need to abide by? such as amps and so and so? I heard interstate batteries are the best for our cars?

Thanks in advanced.

620, you are after a type 94R battery. So, when asking for a battery, this is something that will be key to getting something that will work for you. The other spec that you need to keep in mind is the CCA rating. For your car, you are going to need something in the 700 CCA rating range. If you can get more, then by all means do that. If you down around 680, not a problem. Get much under 650 and you may have issues.

I did a quick search and the Advance auto parts store has a Titanium battery for $140. Please keep in mind that most batteries that you are going to find came from 1 of 3 battery companies. So, in most cases, the difference between a $50 battery and a $200 battery is nothing more than a sticker on the outside and the warrantee that goes with it. So, as for brand, decide what you are willing to spend for the warrantee and go from there.

Funny i actaully had the exact same thing happen to me this past Friday. small crack on negative terminal, that damn cover makes it so you dont look often and i never noticed the corrosion. Thank god i happen to take the car to the mechanic for an inspection and it wouldnt start for him, i would have been stranded. new interstate battery cost me $150. Jaguar wanted $280 for oem!
