also can anyone tell me if the 3D option is back in the latest sw version?
I liked it with my original 02 nav software. but when the dealer re-flashed it .. it added a clock.. (good) but lost the 3D.

RE: Blank Navigation screen
1. BURN INTO A DUAL LAYER DVD-R - LOOSE - JUST DRAG AND DROP INSIDE DVD-R
2. TURN ON IGNITION AND TAKE OUT MAP DVD.
3. INSERT THE SOFTWARE DVD-R INTO READER AND QUICKLY TURN IGNITION OFF THEN BACK ON, SO SOFTWARE LOADS WHEN SYSTEM LOADS.
4. WAIT A FEW MINUTES - 5-10 UNTIL YOU SEE THE JAGUAR SPLASH SCREEN COME UP.
If this doesnt work for you then you might need help with the DVD-reader Or you might have burned the file incorrectly.

RE: Blank Navigation screen
Well it appears my problem is more severe than yours was. Or I am just doing something wrong which is entirely possible. I burned the disc myself and it appears it was done correctly, followed the instructions and nothing. My changer is not working now either, so i pulled the reader and changer out to see if it was plugged in and what not, everything looks legit, but in all honesty....what the hell do I know. It is still getting the same codes, 50 51 c3, and the high heat defrost is still kicking full blast. Summer is coming, i think it is time to suck it up and go to the dealer. Considereing I had to replace my xenon unit for $900< i can only imagine what this is going to cost. Whatever, ......still love the car,......I think.

RE: Blank Navigation screen
Could I get a copy of the latest 2008 Map? My car is a 2002 and the current Mapis 2003, it is very outdated in new subdivisions, but it works and in 3D. It would be nice to have the updated streets.

RE: Blank Navigation screen
Ok_ Thi seems to be the same issue that I had with mine. Burn the DVD loose again and at the slower speed. Turn the ignition on so you can insert the DVD. Turn the ignition off then back on so the operating system boots up again and can actually see the DVD in the reader when it first loads. Leave the ignition for 10 minutes and let it load. If you done it correctly it should come back up. If I'm you I would let it there for at least 15 minutes and see what happens. If it's an OS issue it should load, if it's the reader then you will have to check it at the dealer and/or have it replaced. let us know.
I downloaded the torrent file. I will not post that here so email me - I will search for the link and explain.
where do you get updated maps from?

RE: Blank Navigation screen
No there is not change since this is for the device to load properly. To fix the boot sequence. Check to see how are you burning the file - I used a Verbatim Dual Layer DVD-R and the slowest speed - You can use PowerIso or MagicIso to burn the file loose.

navigation software?
I am having the exact same problem that solidx has described on this thread. Can anyone send a copy of the software to me or maybe a link to where I can get this software? I have been all over the internet trying to find out how to fix this and I am at my wit's end. If this works I owe somebody (of drinking age) a six pack of their favorite beer!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I actually had the same thing (c1 50, 51 error), then I saw a thread on another forum that suggested replacing the climate control with a non touch screen lcd unit, like this one.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT
The main thing to watch out for is getting one that is correct for your car (heated / non heated windscreen) mine was non heated.
SOOO I thought to myself, $50 is doable, and if it works, it leaves me open to replacing the stereo with an aftermarket, which I wanted expanded functionality anyway, so it was a win win.
Bought the one off of ebay, that is actually the specific one I bought, and put it in last night.
Taking the old one out was a breeze. Took off the trim around the shifter, two screws below the ashtray, took out the ashtray, two screws under the CD player, two on either side of the hazard switch (trim pops off). Pull out the whole unit.
Removed the Nav unit from the mounting hardware and unplugged it. Mounted in the new climate control and had to pull the plugs on a module that is in the passenger's footwell under the dash and reroute to the center where it would mount.
Turned on the car, lit up and could control the A/C again.
Put it all back together, and bam I have air again.
Now I have to pick out a stereo, get the bezel and get it in there...there is a gap in my dash, but hey, the A/C feels good, it is supposed to reach almost 100 degrees F today and I do outside sales for a living.
And yes, for the time being, I have the same limited funcitionality out of the CD player / radio.
Cheers and let me know if I can help. I should have done it a long time ago as easy as it was!!!

Errors 50 and 51
I own a 2002 X-Type 3.0 and am experiencing the described errors since yesterday. I don't know, if the reader is broken or the connection cable. It seems strange though, because it worked 'till I parked the car.
Does anyone have the software to burn on a disk? Does it need to be dual layer or will single layer do it?
Does anyone have a maps dvd?
Thank you all and have a great rest of the week.

I hate to reserect an old thread but I have an '03 XJ that's having the afore mentioned problem. After quite a few searches I have found alot of info about the problem but no refrence to downloadable links for the or an applicable torrent as I no longer have the origional software disks. If anyone can guide me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
