Default Blocking EGR valve

Does anyone have experience in blocking the EGR on a 2,2d my2006

Default General Info on EGR

Don't do it. It is a bit counter-intuitive, but it will increase combustion chamber temperatures, not help fuel consumption, and actually degrade performance.

I just clean mine every year, not too difficult a job, that way don't have to worry about overheating or warning lights

Thanks, I will start cleaning mine to, I think I will clean the whole inlet at first then clean the EGR every time I change the oil.

Takes a couple of hours, just mind the black soot that comes out, if you get it on carpets or clothes it will not come out
