No VACM?
2006xtype,
If you have no VACM (voice activated control module) the microphone circuit must bypass that plug.
The VACM plug (PH2) is a 22way black connector located adjacent to the phone module in the left boot.
The bypass can be done using the voice activation shorting loop which is part number XR837852.
However, if you don’t have the shorting loop, it can be done simply using 22 ga copper (telephone) wire:
Use three 22 ga copper wires (green, white and yellow are recommended to maintain the color code), each 3-1/2” long, stripped 3/8” on each end. Fold each bare end back and crimp to form a 3/16” tab similar to the male plug pins. Insert the wires into the VACM plug:
Jumper Pin to Pin
Green 12 - 13
White 2 - 15
Yellow 1 - 3
The PH2, 22 way black connector is numbered on the back: 1, 11, 12, 22.
If you do a search "Bluetooth upgrade" on this site, you can see the detailed instructions with photos. Next time, you might want to search the site before starting a new thread.
best regards,
Bill
