Default Bluetooth

Is there anyway to add something to my current 2006 xtype navigation system/ stereo to enable me to have bluetooth connection to my iPhone, so I can listen to my music without plugging a bunch of wires into my cigarette lighter? I don't want too dump a bunch of money into replacing/upgrading my current screen and system at this time

Nothing OEM, but there are several bluetooth handsfree kits (Parrot and some others) that also allow playing music over the connection. However, to my knowledge most if not all of them have their own ~20W amplifiers, so it's not suitable for a serious audiophile.

Yeah, I have a couple of ones that play over an unused radio station but they don't work very well and I'm constantly having to switch the station due to interference..It's cool, I will wait for some of my money to free up and just bite the bullet and Have a completely up graded screen and system to install. I really love this site, I am getting some really good advice on repairs, upgrades and things that will waste time and money with the car..
Thanks again for all the useful advice.

The site is nice because of nice people ^^

Why do you need to stream music from the phone btw? I for example have an AUX lead soldered to the original head unit (based on current knowledge only works if you have the cassette player) and a dedicated mp3 player hidden in the ashtray connected to it. It starts playing when I start the car and stops playing when I stop the car. The AUX connection is CD-quality. While this is not exactly a very high-tech solution, keeping the interior stock-looking is something important for me.

Apparently these work well. I'm considering one myself. Supposed to be good for mp3 playback and calls via your smart phone it interrupts the radio antennae signal and drowns out any radio in favour of your smartphone. Not sure whether to have usb power lead from ashtray to armrest. Or have the usb power lead to come out on the vents and mount my smart phone there for sat nav. Can't be bothered with retrofit sat nav as i doubt there will be map upgrades for much longer. But I don't know if that's true.

This wasn't cheap, but here's how I did it. Read all three tips pages: http://www.jimrothe.com/jaguar/index.html#tips
