A Bluetooth Install question.
So I had plans to have a Motorola IHF-1000 installed and the guy just called me back to let me know that there is NO way to tie into the stereo even for the mute function? Is this correct, can anyone confirm whether or not there is a MUTE wire on the head unit, and if there is please pass along the information about which wire it is. I really wanted this set up, but if it can't mute the stereo I'm not going to bother to have it installed.
Also I have a BTUM module specific to Jaguar and that apparently adapts the dealer installed phone option to make it bluetooth, but those kits are around $1,400 I've heard. So if anyone has any other sugggestions please let me know.
I have also looked into the other plug in kits, but those do not work with the navigation system which mine has so if anyone has any information indicating otherwise again please share. I don't care if it's integrated into the nav so I can dial a number from the nav or not, but I do absolutely want it to mute the radio automatically. If it can't do that then I'll just use my Jabra headset.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, since BT is the only option that I couldn't get on a used one, that I really wanted.

RE: A Bluetooth Install question.
I am having a bluetooth phone installed in my 2003 (late year) X-type along with the ACM. They are having all kinds of issues installing these. It is supposed to work, however they are having compability issues with the Nav, Phone and ACM (audio control module). These are all Jaguar parts by the way. I was wondering what year your X-type was that you could not get the Jaguar bluetooth option. It must be a late 2003 or newer for the Jag version to fit.

RE: A Bluetooth Install question.
It is an 03' how late does it have to be, and how can you tell whether or not the factory Bluetooth is an option?
I have also found these two, but can't tell if either of them would actually work.
This one says for an 03' but not amplified http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/06-082B.html
Then this one says for amplified but 04' or newer http://www.siocommunications.co.uk/06-098B.html
Mine is an 03' but I'm pretty sure it's the amplified systems since it has the Disc Change, and DVD for navigation in the trunk, as well as the 10 speaker configuration.

RE: A Bluetooth Install question.
Ok now I'm totally confused.
I had a call into my dealer to see if the radio is the same as the 04' come to find out it is, so apparently the one kit will work.
However while I was talking to him, he also mentioned that there is an actual phone module in my car not the kit, but some module under the dash and apparently that's where the factory one connects to. Does anybody know where this module is and what it looks like? The reason I ask is I also have a BTUM module that was made to adapt the factory phone kit to make it bluetooth and I'm wondering if this is where it connects.
