Angry Bolt turning upper manifold

I have 2003 X-Type trying to remove the upper manifold to replace spark plugs but 3 of the bolts just keep turning, what I do get them out? The bolt is not stripped it goes into a brass looking piece that's embedded in plastic.

Shawn,

Very recently ran into this issue when removing my upper manifold. The bolts screw into nuts that are fixed into round plastic housing in the lower inlet manifold where intake gaskets reside. In my case, only one of the 6 bolts was turning without releasing. After removing the other five bolts, I gently lifted the manifold out of place and and the nut came out of the plastic housing along with the bolt. This is the risk when trying to pry the bolts out. I managed to remove the nut from the bolt and used some JB Weld (the regular, not the quick setting) to bond the nut back into the housing. When I later reinstalled the upper manifold, I was able to screw the bolt into the newly bonded nut with no issue (10nm is recommended torque when reinstalling). Putting anti-seize compound on the bolts when you reinstall the upper manifold will help prevent this in the event you need to remove the intake in the future. In the case that the bolts are damaged and unusable, you may have to get a slightly longer bolt (so that it protrudes below housing) and use wing nuts to lock the new bolts in place.
