Default brake fluid warning

so i finally did the install today of the new rotors, pads and calipers. while changing the calipers some brake fluid leaked out, and much to my surprise, after only 33k miles my brake fluid looked like 2 year old used oil. it was black. jet black. and smelled terrible. so just a word to the wise - if your milage is anywhere near mine you better have the brake fluid checked.

I assume you do brake heavily lol
Changing your brake fluid is a good idea just like you change your engine oil as well as coolant

install was painless.

i do not do any heavy braking. in fact, i am a very light brake user as i have a manual and prefer to downshift rather than use the brakes.

According to themaintenence schedule brake fluid is to be changed every 2 years. This is regardless of mileage as brake fluid is hygroscopic which means it readily absorbs water from the air even through the walls of rubber brakehoses!.

ORIGINAL: nineball

after only 33k miles
all services have been performed by a jag dealer, and are on record with jaguar. at least i know if anything would have gone wrong i would not have been to blame. just bugs me that they never changed it, or if they did then it went bad fast.
