Bummed out about A/C
The car is driving great so I suppose I shouldn't complain. However I had my aircon serviced last month. They told me to come back in a month to check for leaks - and you guessed it - there is a leak. They need to book the car in for more detailed fault finding and so work out a quote for repair. Say a prayer for me so that it won't be too expensive a fix!

col5491: Start with the simplest diagnostic checks and work your way up from the simple and cheap, to more complex & expensive possibilities:
- Fuse: Check 10A fuse F5, in the Power Distribution fuse box by the battery
- Relay: Swap the A/C clutch relay R3 with another, identical relay that you confirm works, e.g., R1 (headlights) or R8 (windshield washer pump), also in the Power Distribution fuse box by the battery
- Ground: The Black ground wire from the A/C clutch is bolted on or near the A/C mounting bracket. Check for a good, clean connection, i.e., no rust or corrosion and low electrical resistance - easy to check with a multimeter.
- Freon: Check the Freon pressure, and add if low.
- If the above 4 check out ok, then disconnect the electrical connector at / just above the A/C, and with the engine running and A/C on max cold, check for ~12V on the Red / Green wire. You can do this with a longer, test wire, so you don't have to be under the car when the engine is running. The 2nd, Black wire is the ground wire to / near the A/C bracket.
- If the Red / Green wire to the A/C has ~12V power with the engine on and A/C on max cold, then the A/C clutch is suspect.
