Default "Burping" sound at slight throttle up

HI all,

I noticed this noise a few weeks ago and it has since gotten louder. Happens mostly on start up and lasts a few minutes. Its a gurgling or burping sound from the OEM air-box area.

I have a OEM filter in the OEM air-box and never touched anything else.

Is they any flap or valve in the air-box causing this? Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about ?

Kind regards,

Does it kind of sound like a hissing sound? Do you have a check engine light on? How is the drivability of the car? From your brief description I would guess vacuum leak. Could it be coming from the PCV hose that is by the intake? If that is the old style smooth one there is most likely a split on the bottom of the hose. Jaguar changed that out to a beefier ribbed one. Just guessing though. If you post more details about your situation it will be more likely someone could chime in with a more definitive answer.

Hi there,
Apologises for not giving you enough information about my problem…
● I have no engine light on
● Drivability of car is fine
● Sound is gurgling / burping
The sound happens when the car is stationary and at idle speed, when you slightly press the gas pedal to around 1500 rpm and when it goes back to idle around 750 rpm for about 2 seconds and at idle speed you can here a gurgling / burping sound.
It sounds to me like a pipe or someone, sometime when it does it the engine vibrates ever so slightly and when the noise goes the slight vibration goes.
The total time of the gurgling / burping and ever so slight engine vibrate is around 2 or 3 seconds but it happen every time the press the gas pedal.

Do the RPMs drop at idle to where the car almost stalls and then go back up or is the idle nice and steady all the time? If the idle varies maybe the throttle body needs cleaning? Just taking a stab in the dark here, maybe someone else can chime in with another idea. Can't be that bad if there is no check engine light on I would think.

Hi There,

Yes the idle does drop but only via about 50 rpm or so...

Regards,
