Default Buying parts, please add your 2 cents.

2002 x-type, started cruise not available, now bank 1 lean codes.
Questions;
A Forum supporting online retailer who ships quick in the US?
Do I need only the upper intake gasket set for o-ring replacement/intake removed?

Getting the o-rings, that top tube that splits, intake upper gasket set.

During a smoke test I only seen smoke around the throttle body, is there any rebuild kit for it?

innzane, I will propose this to you: you really don't need any gaskets as the ones that are in there are designed to be re-used. With that being said, replacing them will give you peace of mind. The lower ones are just a few more screws. So, if you are that far into things, might as well replace them too so you are sure you have all the bases covered.

If you need some help spinning wrenches, come on down and we can get you taken care of. I have all the tools that you could need for a job like this.

As for parts, as much as I am a supporter of the sponsors here, you can get a better deal at your local Advance auto parts. Tell them that you need the Felpro MS 96485 ($17 at Advance) and Felpro MS 96496 ($46 at Advance) gasket sets.

As for a rebuild kit for the throttlebody, there is no rebuild kit that I am aware of. That would be one of those things that I would need to tear apart the one I have in my garage and see what the seals are for that. Odds are, it would be nothing more than a few o-rings. But, hard to say without digging deep into the unit.

If I could find the time I would have been your way already.
Do you know of a local source for the IMT o-rings, or substitutes?
I keep searching, knowing I seen a clue where to find them. but where?

innzane, give the guys at JPLV a call and they will hook you up. You can look on e-bay too. They have them there for pretty cheap.

That was much quicker and easier than expected. NOTHING BROKE!
I would guess my issue was the gaskets between the fuel rail and the block.
I had all kinda blow by and gunk there, gaskets flattened.

Cruise Not available message went away within a minute.
Car ran rough, so I gave a listen, IMT was hissing, had the top 0-ring slip out of the groove on install so fixed that.

Hope to see the CEL fade to black soon.

Will the CEL go away if problem is fixed?
Or do I need to plug in and clear the codes?
Thanks

innzane, the CEL will go away provided the following is true: You need to drive the car 5 times (long enough to complete a complete drive cycle, aka, about 5 miles) and during those 5 drives, the code cannot come back at any time. On the 6th start, the CEL will come on for the initial start but then go out after the initial system check is complete.

You have the code (or any code for that matter) come on during the 5 drives, the counter resets and you have to drive for 5 more cycles and have no codes appear during that time for the CEL to go out on the 6th start.
