Hi,

In intro section I wrote that I will be buying used Jaguar X-type this week and since this is first of this breed I would ask for some pointers of what to look for.

Basic informations I can give about car:

Year: 2007
Engine: 2.0Ds (have no clue what S stands for, thoght it was sport edition)
Milage: 157.000km
Color: black

My question would be are there any specific problems with this type or and tips of what should I check on a car like that?

I would appriciate any respons to this topic which would greatly help me tomorrow.

 

I have bought mentioned Jaguar and so far so good. I have noticed two things that I personally can´t connect with a problem.

1. When in idle it has about 800 revs but if I turn steering wheel to either side it lowers for another 100-200 revs and then it backs up

2. When going into corner and I am holding steering wheel in one place I gett feedback like that steering wheel is jumping from time to time left and right, it is the same feeling when you suddenly drive into road where trucks left their mark from tires.

Any advices what that should be?

 

Hi, I am new to the forum and also have a beautiful 2007 X-type...I am trying to figure out how to post a new post but am having a tough time figuring it out...I was able to find a you, a fellow owner, so hoping you can help; or that others are reading this and can help...my extended warranty purchased with the car in 2010 is almost up (May 12) and Jaguar says it cannot sell me another one because over 80k miles (91,000)...any advice on buying another one? And any advice on how to get it looked at before the warranty expires in 11 days? Can I bring it in and pay the $200 deductible and have a once over? Sincerely, LoveMyJag
