Default A/C problem, no cool air, replaced compressor and recharged

2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5L 5 Speed w/107k

Over the past year my a/c has slowly gotten worse. I checked the refrigerant and it read very high, mechanical probelm. It also sometimes worked when driving faster than 40. I recently read the TSB, ordered the O ring and completed the repair. I recharged the system and still a problem. I then got a compressor and replaced it. I then recharged the a/c again, this time it reads normal, but no cool a/c. I noticed that the passenger side is not cool, but it is not as hot as the driver side. I have checked the fan, and it comes on.

I really want to get this fixed asap. I am very mechanically inclined and work on cars as a hobby. I just think i am overlooking something and need a little help fully diagnosing the problem. I had a quote from a local place for $150 just to look at the car. I would prefer to get a little input from this forum first. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Check behind the cabin filter and make sure the flap is closed. If you can see the fan, then you'll have to reach in with a piece of stiff wire with a hook on the end of it and pull it shut. Mine was doing the same thing until I read on here about the door being stuck open.

Thank you jac. Thanks for the tip of going through the cabin filter.

I started investigating more and it looks like the blend doors might be sticking, no fan change when i hit the recirculation button on and off.

I did notice that the far right vent on the passenger side, next to the door is the coolest blowing vent.

You might also want to block the flap from coming back open. Mine started getting a little warmer a few days later so I checked and the flap was opened again. I just used a piece of wood to wedge in there. Not sure if it's going to hurt anything by blocking it closed but at least I'll stay cool.
