Default Can "No drive" be an electrical fault

X type 2.1 2002 lost drive on motorway, next day seemed fine but when running for about 4 miles lost transmission, changed transmission oil, start car will move couple of yards, turn off/on ignition car will drive couple of yards.
Can this just be an electrical problem?
