Default Car audio volume

Hi,

i got a 2002 jaguar x-type with the factory regular audio system.
My problem is that when i turn the volume up loud after a few second it dims its self down automaticly.
The volume level (numbers) stays the same.
Lets say i have it on max (35) , it will stay on 35 but it will dim a little.
Can i bypass this???
Help..............

Check your setup screen, see if you have the auto volume set.

I have the Nav on mine and on the right side (buttons) there is a Menu button, once you press that you go to a screen that has set up, volume preset etc. If you don't have the Nav setup then i'm not sure how you would access that menu.

I was looking for some close up pics of that setup up but can't find any with close enough detail. On your radio the buttons that allow you to tune stations and set clock and other stuff???

It's been a while since I've messed with the audio system on the X-Type but I think the Auto Volume Control settings can be changed by pressing and holding the 'mode' button (next to the volume knob). Once you hold for a while (3 seconds or so) a new menu should pop up. If you press the mode button again, it should scroll through different options/settings. Like I said, it's been a while but I think that's how it's done. Let me know what happens....

@ Greenhornet: The MR and the phone buttons are for when you have a phone hooked up directly to the car's audio system. Unfortunately, the only phone hookup they ever had for this car was some old Erickson phone, so those buttons are obsolete.

@digimurda: I have the same audio system and I have gone though all of those menu's. I wish I could help you, but I have never found an auto volume control on mine. Try the menu you get to by holding the mode buton, if it's anywhere, it would be in there.
