Hello everyone,

I am planning to order this chepo unit from the-bay. It says RK-A701 as the model on the face plate. It is a no-name chinese unit. And my question is; would I be able to hook up my steering controls with the "jaguar to generic chinese" stalk patch lead module. Has anybody had any experence with this? I am posting the links for both. Thanks in advance.

It only couple hundred difference from the brain name unit, but what it count here is time consuming, if it work right and last, you got a bargain, but if it not, you'll spend more time and more money to replace one. I wouldn't trust a no name Chinese electronic equipment, they're contract to produced things form brain name companies( quality controlled) then they copy those to made they own products ( these are no quality controlled)

 

Thanks Thang Nguyen. I am aware of the quality of the product. My question is the steering controls. Would the stalk module for chinese units in the link fit this device? I don't want to upgrade to this head unit and lose the steering controls.

 

29-615-ALP Jag XK8 ISO lead & Patch lead, plus everything will work just done same thing unit works and steering control works.

Pleased to of helped i would get the one on second link for X type but yes they work fine there is normally a lead available for each Jag model etc.

 

Ok ordered them, now the waiting game...

 

Very pleased with my stereo setup think the china ICE will be as good as those from japan in the very near future.

 

Buying the China electronic is a game of taking chance, but it looking good,I hope you got a good one and enjoy your toy, I am looking one for my 04 X-Type too, after I get it running.

 

That looks great Filmcar. Definitely there is a risk when you buy chinese units, but for the price I will see how lucky I am.
