check engine light on
My check engine light came on a long time ago, and also the brake and ABS lights came on. My mechanic says it is my ECM and only the ABS system is affected and I can drive the car with standard braking, just not ABS. So far that is true. However I recently bought an OBD reader and the only fault ir reads is : OBD-IIOBD-II
DTCs: 1
----------------------------
P1111 [0x1111]
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Intermittent High Voltage
Status: Pending
I am at a loss as to what to do to get things back to normal as the ECM cost is ridiculous at $1400 CDN. Is the reading correct? Is there a fix? Is it really my ECM?

tangofiend, whereever you got the info on the code has a common error when it relates to jaguar codes. You want the P1111 code as it really means that all is good to go and all the emissions tests pass. Now, that is not to say that you do not have another issue. This is where getting a better code reader that can read B, C, and U codes too may give you more information. I guess my question right now is whether the ABS and brake lights are still on? If so, then odds are, you have a problem still and it is not your ECM. I would venture to guess it is your ABS module (it is the more common module to fail on this car and more fits the symptoms that you are saying you have).
The ABS modules seem to all be packing up, but it could be the a speed sensor as Dell pointed out…….I think your intake air code is just the Mass AirFlow Sensor needing cleaning or replacement
Spike, read my comment. P1111 is in your car right now. That is the good code saying all is good. On other brands, P1111 is the intake air temp problem. Jag just had to be that little bit different.
Oh , I misinterpreted the original post- I thought he had the P1111 **and** an air code as well.
As Thermo suggested, you need to get a different OBD II plug in reader. I got a REAL forscan one that read "c" codes. When my lights came on after replacing right rear wheel hub, I got a C1165 (RR speed sensor) failure. The forscan is not very expensive and coupled with Torque app is decent.
The reason I say "REAL" is there are tons of Asian knockoffs (I bought one) that don't seem to work.

I had the ABS warning light for a long time - intermittent - then I fixed it:
